We manage personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and, where applicable, the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

- course registrations, attendance, learning progress, assessment results and completion records

We generally do not receive or retain complete payment-card details. Online payments are processed by an authorised third-party payment provider under its own security and privacy arrangements..
2. Sensitive, clinical and patient information
Our public website, contact form and general email address are not intended for transmitting identifiable patient information, clinical records or other sensitive health information.
Please do not include patient names, medical record numbers, dates of birth or other identifiable clinical information in a general enquiry.
Where an engagement requires access to health, clinical or registry information, appropriate contractual, confidentiality, privacy, information-governance and data-security arrangements will be agreed before information is provided. These arrangements may include the use of approved secure transfer and storage methods.
3. How we collect personal information
We usually collect personal information directly from you when you:

- email, telephone or correspond with us
- register for a course, event or service
- create or use an online learning account
- complete an assessment, evaluation or survey
- request a quotation or enter into an agreement with us
- make a payment.
We may also receive information from your employer, health service, professional organisation, event organiser or another person registering you for an activity. Where practicable, we will ensure you are aware of the collection.
You may make a general enquiry without providing more information than is reasonably necessary. However, we may need to confirm your identity for registrations, contracts, certificates, payments or requests involving personal information.

6. Website security and Cloudflare Turnstile
Our online forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile. Turnstile assesses technical signals associated with a website visit to distinguish legitimate users from automated activity and help prevent spam and misuse.
These signals may include information about your browser, device, IP address and interaction with the website. Turnstile is not used by Global Trauma Partnerships to identify you or advertise to you.

7. Cookies and website information
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for:

- maintaining user sessions and preferences
- account authentication
- understanding general website performance and use.
Your browser may allow you to restrict or delete cookies. Disabling necessary cookies may affect some website or online-learning functions.

8. Storage and security
Our primary website and business database is hosted in Australia.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we hold. These may include controlled user access, authentication, encryption, security monitoring, software maintenance and backups.
No online service, email system or storage platform can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should avoid sending sensitive or confidential information through the public contact form or ordinary email unless we have agreed that method with you.
9. Overseas storage and processing
Although our primary database is hosted in Australia, protected backup copies and some support, security, email, payment or other service-provider functions may be located or performed overseas.
Known or likely service-provider locations may include Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Canada and the United States. The countries involved may change when providers update their infrastructure or subprocessors.
We take reasonable steps when selecting and managing service providers to ensure personal information is handled consistently with applicable Australian privacy requirements. However, overseas recipients may also be subject to the laws of their respective countries.
We do not represent that all information is stored exclusively within Australia.
10. Retention and deletion
We retain personal information only for as long as it is reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected or to meet legal, financial, contractual, insurance or legitimate business-record requirements.
Some course-completion and certificate records may be retained so that qualifications or participation can be verified.
When personal information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to delete, destroy or de-identify it. Information contained in protected backups may remain until those backups are securely overwritten through the provider’s normal retention cycle.
11. Accessing or correcting your information
You may ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold personal information about you
- provide access to that information
- correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
We may need to verify your identity before processing a request. In limited circumstances, access may be refused where permitted or required by law. If that occurs, we will explain the reason where we are legally able to do so.
